LEARNING FROM OTHERS There is nothing better than learning from your own experience, but if you find yourself early for a game it is always worth watching other referees. See what they blow for, watch what they miss and judge if there was a better position the referee could have been in to see the offence. Finally, if there is something you are unsure of - rather than repeat mistakes, ask another referee for clarification. They will be only too pleased to help you. |

| LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
Currently, the KKA have just enough Referees to cope with the number of fixtures in a busy and competitive season. Without further Referees coming through, it is unlikely that these Leagues will be able to grow and expand further than they already are. The sport in East Kent will not be strong enough to support their own League structure for many years. But with this additioinal game allocation, Kent's referees are being pushed to the limit. It will be seen that the active referees also play and coach other teams, which can give them a hectic Sunday afternoon and more frequently mornings too - if they are also committed to National League fixtures. |
